Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. Her first role came to her, as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. In 2002, she was awarded an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance as Murder In Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to be awarded. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal protagonist for two seasons and won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the show in order to pursue a film career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog earlier in the year 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. She played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season, which aired from 2013 to 2014. She plays Faith who's both an avid stargazer as well as a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is part of the Gyllenhaal clan and the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens She began working on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her brother. Then she appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the drama Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in an Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006), brought Gyllenhaal greater fame. Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Crazy Heart, (2009). She then was in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Some of her other characters include as a secret agent for the Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer in Frank 2014 and as a singer as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the main character. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
